Kolkata Gets Its 9th MAAC Centre

Centre to support the growing demand for animation and VFX artists

Kolkata, 15th November, 2017: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), India’s premier educator in high-end 3D animation and visual effects, today announced the launch of its MAAC Kasba centre in Kolkata. The first centre of MAAC was opened in 2002, growing from there MAAC today has launched their ninth centre in Kolkata.

Key factors of growth have been increasing use of VFX in domestic film production and a growing emphasis on growing animation in content by broadcasters. These factors are also expected to grow the animation and VFX sector going forward at upwards of 17% rate. With more and more film-goers hooked to flying humans and stomping monsters, the Indian animation and Visual Effects (VFX) industry is grown considerably.

The goal of JUNIORTHON is to encourage outdoor activities and physical fitness amongst children by giving them an opportunity to accomplish the goal of running.

Talking about initiative , Dipannita said, “We all know that outdoor activities has become so limited for children as they are always busy on gadgets, computer and phone but, I am really glad today so many kids have gathered here to participate in Mumbai Juniorthon and I am really happy  to associate with such amazing initiative. I feel if children can take part in physical activities like this then it’s really good for their health and in future, I am also looking forward to run at least a half marathon”

Talking about Juniorthon Claudia said, “I am fitness enthusiast myself and I like to motivate people and encourage them. I feel it is really necessary in our daily life for children as well as adults to be healthy and exercise regularly. I am feeling really happy seeing all these kids early in the morning and, I feel we should also appreciate their parents for supporting them and bringing them here early in the morning, so I feel whole atmosphere here is really wonderful.

I always observe that whenever kids get time they sit with phones and gadgets. It’s fine to spend some time with gadgets but it shouldn’t be their prime agenda especially in free time. I feel its parent’s responsibility to push to explore outdoor activities for healthy lifestyle.”

Sab TV’s popular soap Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Tapu Sena also graced Mumbai Juniorthon to encourage children, Nidhi Bhanushali who plays character of Sonalika Bhide in the popular soap shared her feeling about the initiative, she said, “This Mumbai Juniorthon is motivation for me as well because I am not a morning person at all but today we have came here to encourage these kids and the energy of these kids is infectious.  I feel kids like us should participate in outdoor activates rather than sitting at home and playing games on laptops and mobile which we will makes us more fitter and healthier”

Tamana’s Annual Christmas Carnival in aid of the Skill Development Centre

The Tamana Christmas Carnival will be held at the British High Commissioner’s residence on Wednesday 13 December. 

The inauguration of the carnival will be at 11:00am. Lady Louise Asquith, Mr. Sunil Sethi ( President FDCI) ,Mr. Kishore Jayaraman (President, India and South Asia Rolls Royce), Mrs. Krithika Jayaraman, Mrs. Neelam Rudy and Mrs. Ritu Mahajan will be present at the inauguration as the Guests of Honour. Dr. Shayama Chona (Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri Awardee, President Tamana) and Mr. Harsh Mahajan (Padma Shri Awardee, Chairperson Tamana) will also grace the occasion. Dr. Shayama Chona, President Tamana speaking on occasion said : “ The Annual Carnival at the British High Commissioner’s residence is a regular feature of the NGO. It is a great platform for the differently abled to express their creativity and skills and to spread the message on behalf of  the disability sector that we are not disabled but specially enabled. We are grateful to the British High Commissioner, Sir Dominic Asquith and Lady Louise Asquith for allowing us to use their garden for this fun day which beautifully epitomises integration of the differently abled”
