KINNEY will visit Delhi and Mumbai in December this year. The
bestselling author of the
Diary of a Wimpy Kid series will deliver the prestigious Penguin Annual Lecture 2016.

Random House India is delighted to announce that Jeff Kinney, one of
the biggest authors worldwide and the best-selling author of the
stupendously successful Diary of a Wimpy
Kid series, will deliver the prestigious Penguin Annual Lecture for 2016.
This
will be Jeff Kinney’s very first visit to India, and it will be an
occasion to treasure for his many fans – children as well as those who
have grown up with their favourite Wimpy Kid series
over the last decade. Kinney will arrive in India in early December and
will visit Delhi and Mumbai.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down, the eleventh book in the globally bestselling series published by Puffin, publishes on
1 November 2016.

of the most prestigious cultural events of the year, The Penguin Annual
Lecture series has featured some of the world’s most respected leaders,
thinkers and writers. It is the first annual
lecture to be organized by a publishing house in India and has become
one of the most prestigious cultural events on the calendar. This will
be the tenth Penguin Annual Lecture. The nine previous lectures have
been delivered by journalist and writer Thomas
Friedman in 2007, diplomat and writer Chris Patten in 2008, Nobel
Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen in 2009, eminent historian
Ramachandra Guha in 2010, renowned spiritual leader His Holiness the
Dalai Lama in 2011, Bharat Ratna awardee scientist and former
president of India APJ Abdul Kalam in 2012, cinematic superstar and
cultural icon Amitabh Bachchan in 2013, internationally bestselling
author Dan Brown in 2014 and the legendary writer Ruskin Bond in 2015.
On
his upcoming global tour Jeff Kinney said: ‘I’m thrilled to visit more
places where Wimpy Kid has impacted the lives of young readers. My first
global tour was an amazing, uplifting experience.
I am looking forward to visiting so many new places this November and
December.’
