09 August, 2016, New Delhi: Perfetti Van Melle India (PVMI), the country’s leading confectionery player, announced category expansion by bringing themuch-loved confectionery brand Chupa Chups in India. With this move, Perfetti is targeting the burgeoning lollipop market in the country. Priced at Rs. 5, the Chupa Chups Bubble Gum Filled lollipops shall initially be available in two flavours- Strawberry and Cherry. The company plans to manufacture Chupa Chups products in India at their facility in Manesar.
Making this announcement, Mr. Ramesh Jayaraman, Managing Director, Perfetti Van Melle India said, “Chupa Chups is one of our global power brands. India is a key market for us and we have decided to bring this popular brand to India. This is an important moment for us, as we plan to manufacture the product in India and wish to offer our consumers fun in the trademark Chupa Chups style. The unique bubble-gum filled lollipops have been specially created for our discerning Indian consumers. The products are excellent and consumer research validates that strongly.”
