Run Bhuumi Review

Review By : Priyanka Raina

Directed By : Prashant Singh Rathore
Produced By :4S International Ltd., White Knight Production & Origin Pictures
Cast :
Himani Attri as Bhuumi
Mansoob Haider as Coach Sikandar
Bhagwan Tiwari as Duggar
Hema Singh as Grand mother
Kamakshi Tiwari as Mamta
Ritik Thakur as Bittu
Ranvir Singh Rathor as Minister Pandey

When ever we watch movies on Sports fiction , Its obvious that it has be connecting with Sports personality like Mikha Singh or be it like Bend it Like Beckham , which were fabulous and gave unique flavour to Viewers. Now Lets see , How Run Bhuumi fares at Box Office.

Being an Independent film with fresh cast revolves around Brother - Sister Relationship where Sister Bhoomi fights to Run the race for treatment of her Brother Bittu.

Well there are twists and turns in her life , where coach Sikander  is forced to take (Kuldip) - son of a politician (Minister Pandey)  so that he wins elections. Now what happens next , How Sikander trains the Bhoomi in spite of these problems occurring , is the rest of the story.

Direction : The Editor turned Director Prashant Singh Rathore needs more training from Vetern Director Aneez bazmee. Although,  He has written a Good script but  somewhere could be more better in executing. Some scenes are more lenghtier , and looks like Typical Dialogue delivery. Recing scenes seems like you are watching a Short film.

Music : Music by Sudhakar Dutt Sharma & Niekk is nothing extra ordinary that you would love to hear again and again. Except few songs which comes before interval is emotional , Rest can just add some flavours to it.

Review : Can give just two Stars to the Film - One for just the story line which is interesting, not the execution and other may go to few scenes and slight to music which atleast makes you get connected with film.

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Ashwini Bhide Deshpande’s majestic performance brings down curtains on Delhi Classical Music festival

Organized by Department of Art, Culture & Languages, Govt. of Delhi and Sahitya Kala Parishad, Festival saw participation of nine performers across four days including the likes of Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and Pt Jasraj

New Delhi, 5th Nov 2015:

A mesmerizing vocal recital by Ashwini Bhide Deshpande and a master performance by legendary Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan brought curtains down on the four-day Delhi Classical Music Festival that witnessed memorable performances by some of the finest Indian talent in Hindustani music.

The Festival of Classical Indian Music is organized by Department of Art, Culture & Languages, Govt. of Delhi and Sahitya Kala Parishad and offers an interesting mix of participation from veteran as well as young performers.

Ashwini Bhide Deshpande is a renowned vocalist of the ‘Jaipur Atrauli’ Khayal Gayaki tradition and her unparalleled contribution to Indian classical music has won her widespread acclaim, awards and citations. She was the first female Hindustani vocalist who was decorated with the prestigious "Rashtriya Kumar Gandharva Samman" in 2005 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Further, she was also the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademy Award for 2014.

The Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan who was the other performer of the evening needs no introduction as the most popular Sarod exponent across the world. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is a living legend and has played an exceptional role in enhancing the popularity of Indian classical music across the planet. He has earned the distinction of creating many new Ragas and has been instrumental in providing exceptional innovation in the realms of our traditional music. The wizard of Sarod has performed worldwide and is the recipient of several prestigious awards like the UNESCO Award and Padma Vibhushan.

Two books have been written on the majestic personality - The world of Amjad Ali Khan’ by UBS Publishers in 1995 and the second, ‘Abba-God’s Greatest Gift to us’ by his sons, Amaan and Ayaan published by Roli Books-Lustre Publications in 2002. Further, a documentary made on Mr. Khan ‘Strings for Freedom’ was the winner of the Bengal Film Journalist Association Award.

“The origins of Indian classical music can be found in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures in the Hindu tradition dating back to 1500 BCE. However, over the centuries, our music has incorporated inputs from multiple sources and has enriched itself with confluence of different traditions that met in the Indian subcontinent. Our instruments have held their own even in times of digital and techno driven musical instruments. Indian classical music is a true representative of our rich identity,” says Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia.

“In recent years there has been an animated debate on whether our classical music is losing out to the modern pop culture. However, when I see young music enthusiasts eager to learn our classical traditions and keen to master their hands in it, I feel confident of a bright future for our indigenous music. We need more such festivals to encourage young talent on the scene,” says Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.

The festival finished on a high note and the audience was completely mesmerized by the revered exponents of our country’s classical music.

HSI/India Welcomes Kerala High Court’s Order to Implement Animal Birth Control

New Delhi (Nov 5, 2015)-- Humane Society International/India has welcomed the Kerala High Court’s order to implement the Animal Birth Control(ABC) program in order to rein the street dog population in the state. The Court has directed the local bodies to catch dogs and intensify the sterilization process to control their population.

N. G Jayasimha, Managing Director of Humane Society International (HSI)/India said, “We are happy that the Kerala High Court reinstated the need for ABC program, something we have been advocating since the very first day the crisis of Kerala street dog culling made news. A successful sterilization program is the only solution for high street dog population and not killing. This will also help mitigate human-animal conflict and control rabies threat.”

In the past few months, the street dog issue in Kerala had spiraled out of control due to some individuals and anti-street dog groups who have been instigating the community to adopt illegal ways of controlling dog population. Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) and animal welfare organizations such as People for Animals (PFA), HSI/India and others have been working with the support of Kerala State Government and law enforcement agencies in ensuring implementation of the ABC program to curb the street dog population in the state. Last month, the Government of Kerala with expertise from AWBI and HSI/India organized a massive training for vets and paravets who can proficiently execute the sterilization and anti-rabies drive.

  1.  •         In July of this year, the State of Kerala proposed large scale culling of street dogs. The proposal was based on a misreading of the law and HSI urged the use legal means spelled out by the Central Government to address street dog overpopulation
  2.  •         Specifically, under the Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001, street dogs are to be sterilized, vaccinated and subsequently released into the same area, from where they were captured. These Rules also requires sick dogs to be treated prior to their sterilization and vaccination. Incurably ill or mortally wounded dogs can be put to death, and only in a humane manner
  3.  •         Mass vaccinations, an essential part of the programme, have shown to substantially reduce the spread of rabies in dogs, and thus to humans. The World Health Organisation has recognized the use of vaccinations as the most effective way to control rabies
  4.  •         The Constitution of India gives precedence to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2001 over state and local laws
  5.  •         On October 26th, 2015, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India reiterated that the Kerala stray dog issue has to be handled in accordance of the ABC rules, 2001
