Carrier Midea introduces new range of residential air conditioners

Carrier Midea India Targets Significant Growth with New Range of Carrier Residential Air Conditioners

NEW DELHI, March 24, 2014 — Carrier Midea India Private Limited (CMI) today unveiled a wide new range of Carrier brand residential window and high-wall air conditioners for Indian consumers. With this launch, CMI is aiming to significantly increase the sales of its Carrier brand residential air conditioners. Carrier is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The new range comprises 31 models of high-wall split and window air-conditioning units, including three variants in the high-wall inverter category. Carrier’s residential range uses only copper-condenser-based outdoor units, which provide product efficiency, reliability and trouble-free long-term operation. The new range of air conditioners is competitively priced from Rs.27,050/- and will be available across India through a wide network of sales and service dealers, multi brand retail outlets and authorized distributors.

The high-wall inverter segment has seen healthy growth recently, and CMI believes the launch of the three high-wall inverter variants will help it grow further in this segment. The high-wall products come with a direct-current inverter that ensures higher energy savings, comfort and quiet operation, while the use of non-ozone-depleting R410a refrigerant offers customers an environmentally balanced option.

“At Carrier Midea India, we believe in developing energy-efficient products with features and aesthetics for today’s consumer,” said Sanjay Mahajan, vice president, sales and marketing, CMI. “Our new range is comprehensive and designed to meet the critical requirements of our consumers, which include efficiency and low operating cost. With this launch, we are confident we can further strengthen Carrier’s position in the residential air-conditioning segment.”

CMI manufactures and sells Carrier residential air conditioners in India and has developed a robust marketing strategy that uses traditional and new-age media as well as other activities to promote the products across India.
