XLRI announces 3 yrs part time PGDM- BM programme


XLRI announces admission to three-year part-time, Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM-BM) Program for Working Executives & Business Owners for 2013-16

 

  • Last date of receipt of application with payments is 28 February, 2013

·         Candidates with minimum two years of work experience after graduation can apply for this programme.

·         The fee structure for this programme is Rs.8.5 lakhs to be paid in installments as decided by the institute.

  • The AICTE approved programme ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Management for Working Executives & Business Owners’ is a three year, part-time, evening program in Business Management designed and developed for working professionals and business owners, aims to impart highest quality management education while continuing with their current work.

  • Course commences from May 2013 at the XLRI Campus, involves 900+ hours of classroom interactions spread over 3 academic years.

21st February, 2013:  XLRI, one of the premier B-Schools in India announces admission to the ‘Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM-BM) Program for Working Executives & Business Owners’ for the batch 2013 to 2016. The three year, part-time, evening programme, approved by AICTE, imparts the rigor of a full-time programme through 900 plus hours of class room interaction, but spread over 3 academic years to accommodate the time-constraints of a working executive or a business owner. It allows the working professionals, who are willing to stretch out a bit, to acquire the highest quality management education while continuing with their current work.

The Last date of receipt of application with payments is 28th February, 2013 and the interviews will take place from 3rd to 14thApril, 2013.

Fr. E Abraham S.J., Director of XLRI commented on the announcement “The programme has been designed to facilitate two-way learning. The students can get many opportunities to apply the conceptual insights gained in the classroom to their respective workplace on a day-to-day basis while participating in the programme. The programme also attempts to balance the work-life pressures and classroom-learning rigour for students by scheduling the class timings during late evenings and weekends, thereby providing breaks in-between terms, and reducing academic work-load during financial year endings”.

The fees of the programme amounts to Rs. 8.5 lakhs, is payable in installments as decided by the institute. The classes are scheduled to commence from May, 2013.

Candidates who have completed three years of Bachelors degree or equivalent in any discipline, recognized by a University or a Deemed University and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in organizations , in supervisory/executive role in organizations or a business owner as on 30th April 2013  are eligible to apply for this programme. Applicants are not required to take XAT or any common entrance examination for this programme; however, if the applicants have appeared in any of the well established, credible management entrance examination in the last two years, they are encouraged to send their scores along with the application. Candidates called for the personal interview may be asked to take a brief general aptitude test along with the interview.

A grand opening ceremony officially marked the start of the Toyota University Cricket Championship (TUCC), setting the stage for 16 days of a high-voltage cricketing contest. Guests of Honour, Shah Rukh Khan and Rahul Dravid assured their full support towards encouragement of sports in India. Drama, dance performances, drummers and fireworks lit up the sky as the 8 captains were introduced to the country by Shah Rukh Khan and Rahul Dravid.

Also enthralling the crowd with performances during the evening were, Shankar and Ehsaan who also belted out the catchy finger snapping TUCC theme song Ab Hamari Baari Hai’ composed by the trio and penned by famous lyricist Prasoon Joshi, which was launched earlier this month by renowned international cricketer Wasim Akram

Promising to be the next best thing, the grand opening ceremony was followed by the Inaugural Match of the Championship which saw Kent RO Northern Stars from Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia take on Mumbai University's Western Wolves in an interesting and engaging combat. Kent RO Northern Stars won the toss and decided to field. Finally Jamali of Delhi's Jamia Millia clinched the win beating Mumbai University by 5 wickets in a nail biting down to the last ball finish.  The mood was upbeat and the spirit infectious as Mumbaikars turned out to support and back their team. The exciting match saw some superb batting with sixes and boundaries, great catches and bowling from both teams.

Praveen Singh Yadav of the winning team, Jamia was declared the Man of The Match.

Speaking on the occasion Guest of Honour Shah Rukh said, "I am very happy to be associated with University Cricket Championship. Initiatives like UCC promise a brighter future for the young and aspiring sportsmen of our country. I hope that more initiatives like this are taken to broaden the scope of sports in India. I wish lots of luck to the eight teams participating in UCC.”

Leading organisations, along with the Association of Indian Universities and the Ministry of Human Resource Development have joined hands to support this effort to promote University cricket talent

Eleven matches will be played in the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore; Jamia Millia Islamia Sports Complex, Delhi; Capt Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior and the Brabourne Stadium, CCI, Mumbai between 24 February and 6 March from 7:30pm leading to the Semi Finals in Gwalior on 7 March and Mumbai on 8 March at 7:30pm. The Final Match and Trophy presentation will be on Sunday 10 March at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI in Mumbai.

On the day of ‘Malangard Yatra’, Mr K. Ravi, Director India Media Link & Events Management organized a comfort travel to the devotees coming from distances to the yatra once in a year.

Over 1500 feet above sea level Malangard, a pilgrimage place observes lakhs of devotees visiting on the day of Yatra. “Many of the devotees are unable to climb the steep stairs due to health and age reasons. 

Our idea to come with the helicopter service in bare minimum cost is to offer our services especially for the needy. The entire excise is an intension to offer our bit for the people coming to visit Malangard with great hopes and prayers”, said K Ravi, Director India Media Link & Events Management.

The event was supported and inaugurated in the presence of MLA Eknath Shinde, MLA Pratabh Sarnaik, MLA Rajan Vichare, Kalyan Shiv Sena President Gopal Landge, Thane Municipal Mayor H S Patil, Ganpat Gaikwad, Yuvraj Ramraje and K Ravi.
